Catalina loves Travel (¡Hola desde Madrid!)
Today is my last day in Madrid. Tomorrow I wake up and leave for Granada, on the way stopping in Toledo. I am looking forward to visiting the Alhambra, which was considered this year for the 7 Wonders of the World. It is just that, but a good thing it didn’t win as that would ruin the place.
I have managed to score both hash and pot in Madrid on the first day here… (taxi driver hookup) …that was good. So far, I´ve not found absinthe … and I was STOOD UP by my Spanish friend who was going to meet me in Madrid last night. Can you believe that????? He stood me up. Not even a phone call. Jorge, you are on my bad list. I hope there is a good reason for leaving me sitting there all beautiful and alone in Madrid! I have never before been stood up!
I went to the Prado and the Reina Sofia museums to see all the masterpieces of Picasso and Dalí as well as Velasquez. I even found a few new painters that I fell in love with. The best thing to do in Madrid though is just walk the streets and stop where it looks good.
I will try to pop back in to an internet café at some point when I get to the next big city. Granada maybe, probably not. More likely Sevilla in a few days… if I survive the heat! In Sevilla they say it is 41 degrees (something like 110 degrees) because of the winds blowing off the coast of Africa… I hear it´s even hotter at Gibraltar, which is where I am going before going to Sevilla. YIKES!!
Send me a message… I check them every time I get a chance!

Good to see you’re having fun.
Bummer about your friend. And I expect the high temperature is more likely generated by your arrival as opposed to the winds… :)
