Catalina at La Raza 102.3 Charlotte

So Friday I was interviewed on La Raza radio in Charlotte.  I was invited because I am a professional dominatrix who speaks Spanish.  That’s hard to find — anywhere!  Latino culture and views on sexuality are, generally speaking, very conservative.  Discussions about BDSM, fetish, sado-masochism, and strap on sex are so controversial on La Raza radio, in fact, that the producer told me that he was certain that a large number of people had just turned off their radios and started to pray for my soul.

That’s okay - I’ll take all the help I can get.

It really became more complex, however, as I revealed to them that I was not only a professional domme, but also a submissive in my own personal sex life, a wife, a mother, a formally educated woman, and maybe what shocked them the most is that I just quit my job recently as a high school teacher.  So up until recently I led a very double life.

One of the most challenging questions was about erotic choking.  Though I’m personally a fan of it, it is something I would not engage in on a professional level and I would never flippantly advise anybody to try out erotic choking for fun one night in the sack.

Catalina - Sabrina - Angélica

Joining me were Sabrina and Angélica.  Sabrina is from Mexico City, married, and submissive, but her husband doesn’t want to have a D/s relationship with her.  She essentially talked about how she would continue to fulfill this sexual desire despite being married, if necessary, with someone else.  This brought up the interesting topic of polyamory - and she very cleverly articulated that she was not giving her feelings and thoughts over, only her body.  It was especially interesting considering the machismo that still is very prevalent in Mexican culture.

Angélica is a regular guest at La Raza.  She helped me several times when I couldn’t quite come up with the right words to express myself.  I mean when was the last time I discussed strap-on dildos in Spanish? Um, never.  So there were times I just looked at her and gave her my “help” eyes and she jumped in.  I enjoyed getting to know both of them.

Of course, the DJ’s were very cool and seemed genuinely fascinated by our topic.   It was a lot of fun and in the end I even was given a gift - Cine Latino’s “La puta de mi hermana“.  I haven’t watched it yet - I plan to review it for my blog!
